Andrea couldn't stay here like this anymore. She would have to go to a medical facility. A private one no doubt. Adam told Eckhart. Eckhart said he would start calling in favors. Adam said he could do that for him. Eckhart said a firm no. He didn't want any favors from him. Adam could see that Eckhart was hurt and in pain over Andrea not wanting to speak with him and working things out between the pair. Adam knew he was going to have a tough time trying to get Eckhart to talk or even listen to him. Adam wasn't sure how or where to begin. He didn't want to seem as if he were interrogating Eckhart and he didn't want Eckhart feeling that way either.
Is there anything else? Eckhart asked. I think you should be the one to tell Andrea about her not being able to walk again. Eckhart was a little surprised by this. He wasn't sure how or if he could tell Andrea. He didn't admit to Adam, but Adam could see that he was afraid. How would the words come out? Adam tried to be supportive and told him it would be better if it came from him because of the fact that he was Andrea's husband.

from Oct. 17, 2003:
Eckhart was furious to learn that Lexa Pierce had got the Cure he had hoped to gain to help Andrea Chavez. The more Adam Kane stayed hidden wherever he was and the more Pierce led Mutant X to go on missions that were none of their d**n business the more Andrea continued to suffer in pain and agony. Eckhart remained with her day and night. He hardly slept. Duncan tried to get him to sleep. Even Andrea who woke up at times and talked to Eckhart as best she could told him to get some sleep.
But Eckhart said no. He was going to stay with Andrea just like she had stayed with him during and after Incident X. Eckhart had never told Andrea about the new mutant making scheme. He had hoped to get a cure that could have helped Andrea. But as usual, Mutant X interfered. Eckhart was becoming frustrated.
Duncan had told Eckhart that he would do his best to make Andrea as comfortable as possible. He would give her medication to ease some of the pains and aches she was enduring. But he also told Eckhart that he wasn't sure how long Andrea could survive. She was becoming increasingly tired.
from Oct. 18, 2003:
The more Mutant X and Pierce interfered, the more Andrea was losing time---and her life. Eckhart dreaded the thought of losing Andrea. She didn't deserve this. She was going to die too young. She wasn't even going to live out her golden years. Duncan tried desperately to explain to Eckhart that even if he did find the cure, he couldn't guarantee that it would work on Andrea. Andrea would be a literal test rat for it. Is that what he wanted for her? Is that what he wanted to put her through?
It was Silva who kept Andrea company at times when Eckhart was...

Andrea wasn't sure whether to be grateful Genomex was gone or not. All that she had seen and known at Genomex was catching up with her, Adam and Eckhart. The vandalism and fire that destroyed her business Blue Rose was just the start. Then she was accused of vandalizing her own place and setting it on fire. The insurance company refused to pay her.
It had been 8 months since Mason Eckhart had been depodded. He was trying to convince Andrea to go underground with him. It would be best and safe. Her life was in danger now. After what had happened at Naxcon with Emma deLauro's death and Adam's disappearance people and things seemed to be coming out of the woodwork, especially those connected with Genomex.
Andrea was becoming frustrated and confused. She couldn't start her business all over again and Andrea didn't want to hide. But she knew she had to. Eckhart would never forgive himself if anything happened to Andrea. It was feared that the same people who were looking for Adam were the same ones who had vandalized and then burned down to the ground Blue Rose. No doubt they would find their way to Andrea's home and possibly destroy it too.
Eckhart knew it wasn't just the fact that Andrea had lost her business that she was upset about. There was more to it. It was the reason why she left Genomex. She was there when Eckhart had been depodded from one of his own pods. She stayed with him while he recuperated. She would run her business. The evenings she came for Eckhart. Eckhart could still see it in her eyes.
The pain and hurt. Genomex was gone. But not the memory of what drove her away. She was somewhat distant. But she still sat there while he slept.

Varady suggested to Eckhart that now that he was in his office he should really get some rest. Silva was with Andrea. You need to save your strength for Andrea, Varady said. Eckhart did as Varady suggested. He laid down on the couch. Varady covered him with a blanket. Varady then steped out for a moment. She told Eckhart she would be back. Varady encountered Duncan as he was going in for his routine exam on Andrea. Varady told Duncan about what Eckhart had said about the euthanasia. She told him not to say a word to Andrea. Varady said it was best that they let nature take its course. Duncan agreed.
