Silva wheeled in Andrea to her new room. The nurse began opening the drapes to let in some light. She went over to the bed and pushed away some of the covering off the bed then propped up the pillow. But Andrea said she wasn't ready to get on the bed. The nurse said that was fine. She then began telling Andrea what was what in the room. She told her about the tv and that it had satellite cable tv and that the remote was beside the bed as well as the tv schedule. She then showed Andrea the computer. It had everything she needed. There were blank discs for her to use if she needed to. Andrea wheeled herself toward the computer. Silva followed only slightly close behind. The nurse removed the chair from the table to one side. Andrea looked at the discs. She then noticed some...

Evening was beginning to fall on the first day of what was Andrea's move to her new "home". Connie had left long ago. Varady had helped Andrea change into her sleepwear. Varady then remained until Eckhart arrived. Adam had shown himself earlier. He told Andrea where Eckhart was and what he was doing. Adam finally left after his final examination of Andrea two hours ago. Now it was just her and Varady. Varady told Andrea that it looked as if Eckhart had thought of everything, especially the blue roses. Varady said she knew this was a medical facility, but Eckhart was trying to...

music CDs to one side. The nurse told Andrea that Eckhart had told them she was an aficianado of 80s pop music as well the classics and new age. There was a catalog on a nearby shelf Andrea could look through if there was something else she wanted besides what was here. Andrea saw the single blue rose in a thin silver vase. The nurse said that Eckhart had told them that she was fond of blue roses and that a new single blue rose was to be placed each day she was here as well as the bouquet that was on the left side of her bed. The nurse then said that all seemed to be in order. Andrea thanked her and told her to leave. Silva could help her if she needed anything. The nurse smiled and left. Andrea wheeled herself to the window to look at the view. It was of the city. Buildings. A nearby bridge. Just below, Andrea could see the medical facility's parking lot and a few people coming and going to the side entrance. She then looked up at the sky. The clouds were breaking after a full day's rain. Some blue sky showed and the sun was trying to peek through.
Andrea then told Silva she was ready to get on the bed. Silva wheeled back the wheelchair and put the brakes on either side on. Andrea put her one arm around Silva's neck. Silva put one of his arms under her knees and the other around her waist and lifted her gently. He placed her gently on the bed. Andrea sat back comfortably. She then leaned forward to remove her shoes and then her suitjacket. Silva put the wheelchair on the otherside. He then took the shoes and put them on the floor just beneath the bed and the jacket he laid across the wheelchair. Andrea asked how long Eckhart would be. He would be here, Silva answered. He and Adam had a few things to take care of.
Well, let's try the tv. Andrea said. Silva pulled up a chair and sat down. Andrea asked what he thought of the room.
